Stop 8 - Spring Hill, FL

Once we left the family beach vacation, we snagged my nephew and now the 6 of us set off for Spring Hill, FL. In this area we spent time with my Dad aka "Big Grandpa" and my step-mother, Grandma Doris. Frankie and James loved being around all the dogs and birds. We spent time at a local library, enjoyed a few local restaurants, but mostly enjoyed time with the grandparents and their animals.

The water was too warm this time of year, but typically in the cooler months these water channels can be filled with manatees swimming by!

Stop 9 - Savannah, GA

We couldn't come this close and not travel to the Atlantic Ocean after being in the Pacific Ocean earlier in the month. We found a last minute deal in a historic home on Airbnb and enjoyed living like a local. The boys play basketball in Forsyth Park each day and Frankie and I loved walking to the grocery store.

First time in the Atlantic Ocean for these Selter kids! We swam at Tybee Island Beach which was only about 30 minutes from the house.

we stopped for lunch at The Deck and the food was great!

Frankie and I did a lot of exploring on our own. We quickly mastered the free buses in Savannah and found our way to Leopold's Ice Cream! This is a must stop for anyone visiting Savannah. I had a double scoop, 1 peanut butter, 1 banana and it was heavenly!

We did venture out as a group one evening for a ghost tour of Savannah. This seemed like the thing to do here and it was okay. James was angry we didn't actually see ghosts! I think I would simply recommend a historic tour. The history was much more fascinating than the ghost stories.

We celebrated Jonah's 12th birthday on our final morning in Savannah!

Then....after many hours of driving, thanks to Atlanta traffic, we ended up stopping at a hotel in Nashville, TN.

Stop 10 - Nashville, TN

This was a quick overnight stop but not without its own adventure! There was a thunderstorm that rolled in that night and our hotel lost power for over 2 hours!

The highlight of Nashville was our breakfast. We stopped downtown near the Country Music Hall of Fame and ate at The Diner, which was a solid hit! Warning, the Nashville hot chicken is HOT and hot black coffee was not a solid pairing. I couldn't sell anyone on any tourists stops here in Nashville as everyone was itching to get back to more family in Missouri!

Stay tuned tomorrow for stops 11 and 12 in Missouri!
