It's hard to remember what it was. Here she was in all her glory...just after we removed the sink and lower cabinets. The Saltillo tile. The baby blue walls (probably cheap "oops" paint bought at Home Depot on clearance). And her long galley style layout.

Although inside the house, she may have well been in the garage. With a sky light and our gas fueled water heater, which needed to be vented to the outside, our laundry room was quite the furnace, especially in the triple digit summer months here in AZ. Couple that with children (and adults) who always forgot to shut the door, we were really testing our a/c at times. The two main things we knew we wanted in our new laundry room were to exclude the water heater and create more storage. Done and done.

Layout wise, the room was shortened to add an exterior access utility closet that now houses the water heater and water softener. Additionally the width was expanded into our old garage, now office. My original intent was to add storage lockers the extra width, popular in many mud rooms. We instead went with cabinets and counter space and it it exactly what we needed!

Our construction team completed all the structural, drywall and electrical work, meaning Eric and I were left with a blank slate to finish the room off. We chose white paint, NuCore vinyl flooring (which we purchased at Floor & Decor), Ikea cabinets in navy blue finish, butcher block countertops, Ultra shelves and wallpaper from Overstock for that extra pop!

And now, here she is on any given day. Am I right or am I right? :)

I've tried to link everything below.
