Back 2 School

The kids all started back to school this week which brings up all kinds of emotions! Relief for mom in establishing a routine each day but also sadness that they are getting older and knowing our time together is fleeting. With 4 kids still at home, shopping for back to school can be rough. Here are a few things we did to make life easier. For the 2 littles returning to the same school, we pre-ordered the supply kits offered by their school at the end of last year. This makes life SO MUCH EASIER! It is literally the easy button. No walking up and down every aisle with Frankie begging for every unnecessary but incredibly adorable, therefore hard to resist notebook, smelly marker set and folder that we pass. For the older 2 boys, we did most of our back to school shopping at home (through our old supplies). Every year someone seems to come home with a few notebooks that are empty or have less than 10 pages used. I just tear the used pages out and boom! Brand new notebook. Same with pens and pencils...perhaps you saw my IG stories the other day with Jonah's pencils. Haha!

For clothes, shoes, and new backpacks, we mostly hooked up at Kohl's this year. Lunch boxes and water bottles were found on Amazon. I linked everything I could below!

Last first day of kindergarten for this Selter family! Kindergarten rarely gets homework but with older siblings in the house with digital homework, ABC mouse for James is our saving grace during that time.

ABC mouse annual subscription - $45/year until cancelled*

ABC mouse trial - try for $5 for 2 months (then $12.99/mo until cancelled). Offer good through August 16*

Frankie added a trapper keeper to her school supplies to help keep her backpack organized. She has a school folder provided from the supply kit so the trapper keeper is mostly for her drawings and personal notes to and from friends. :)

Nike shoes - currently cheaper on Nike's website. Extra 20% off with code SCHOOL20

Brush on sunscreen* - this is fun because she pretends it is makeup however it actually mineral sunscreen :)

Adidas backpack* - this is our second year with this backpack and it's held up to Jonah...which says a lot :). He tends to be rough on things.

Corded head phones* - to plug into school laptop

Five Star Binder* - to organize all his different classes. This is Jonah's first year traveling rooms for each individual class and his middle school has no lockers so backpack organization is a MUST!

Caleb is so simple and easy going.

Same trusty old backpack* - great for older kids and for adults who prefer to carry laptops this way

Beats ear buds*- he can use his phone in some classes, plus the over ear design makes them great for running cross country

Large water bottle with strap* - Caleb carries the 40 oz to school

Classic Vans* - not sure why they title them as women's (be sure to double check your selected size)

Happy school shopping!
